Job resources besides jobslinger and volition?

I have gone through both jobslinger and volition and found about 20 companies that have jobs in my area to sign up with. I have heard discussion about signing up with upwards of 100 companies. I am curious to know if there are other resources that can be searched by location (zip code). If so I would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction. THanks in advance.

No, not really. Jobslinger is suggested because you CAN search it by zip. And if you have gone through the Volition job board as well (which feeds into Jobslinger, by the way), you can try searching the job board here.

If you have 20 companies in your area that are offering work it is likely you have about exhausted the resources for the moment unless you live in an area that is the lifeblood of chains. If you plan on continuing shopping an expanding your business, it is about time to settle down with a list of legitimate companies--either from here or Volition or the MSPA an just start signing up with them all. Most will not have jobs in your area more than likely, but as the economy improves I suspect many clients will try to grab more market share and start or resume doing shops. Companies will generally contact you if/when they have a client in your area.

With more than 200 companies, I only work with 30-40 of them per year, though more have shops that just are not worth the gas or time to do.
Thanks for the reply. I did some reading here and tried something that another member suggested. I signed up for a trial membership with shadow shopper. I have it marked down on my calendar to cancel the membership before it converts to a full blown subscription as I don't feel like I need shadow shopper full time. For the $5 that I paid, I found 9 additional companies with shops available in my area. I am now up to 30 and I believe that should allow me to meet my goals.
I agree with Flash. Go on this forum under Mystery Shopping Companies and you will find I think about 250 MSCs you can sign up with. I get an email maybe once a month from some company I signed up with 2 or more years back. I did not take the jobs either because of low pay or bad reputation on this forum. You never know though who will pop us with a great job. Two months ago I got a job doing a major luxury car dealership for 150.00. It was the first job I did for them and now I get job offers all the time in my area. That is why I am signed up with so many.
Regardless of how many MSC's you sign with, they will narrow down to jobs you like and timely pay. I say out of the 100 I'm registered with, I work monthly for about 8, and the others rattle in and out depending on above. I really have my favorites, am super to them and they to me. MSC's you like and that have jobs in your area, do your best to maintain a good rating, and build a good rapport with the scheduler, the rest will fall into place. I also find MSC's that have headquarters in your town (area) have many jobs there...at least for me, there are many that have restaurants only in L.A., and do to that, I eat well....smiling smiley

Live consciously....
Has anyone noticed a slow down in this industry? I have been super active in the Memphis,Tn area for about 3 years and now the market seems stale. Also, since I became IC PRO there has been a difference. Any other IC Pro people out there??
The differences I have noticed over the years have varied. Overall, shops I do now have similar fees and reimbursements. Some clients have quit the shopping business. MSPs typically have gained and lost clients. Some MSPs have gone under. Others are hanging on by their fingernails, resulting in long payment cycles (or no payment).

cyn615, different how? I'm not IC PRO. I'm assuming you're not feeling positive results?
www.mysteryshopper.org, that's the official Mystery Shopper Providers Association website.

You can see specific assignments in your area, and see the company that it's currently recruiting for that assignment.
[www.mysteryshop.org] is the correct link.

The IC pro is the free thing with Jobslinger, right? I signed up for that when I first joined Jobslinger. I dont think it has gotten me more jobs. It mainly just seems to be a way to help verify your info with companies. At least that is what I have gotten out of it.

In my Jobslinger Connections, it shows I am signed up with 52 of the Sassie companies. I would be interested to know if there are more than that. I am trying to sign up with everything I can find.
