Ascent Research

Happy Valentines Day to all!!!!!! My question is has anyone done work for Ascent Research? I tried to pull up their website at work and it was blocked. I work in a hospital and usually the only thing that it blocks are bad websites so I thought I would ask before I went home and tried to pull it up on my personal computer.

Did you ever find more information on this company? I am curious myself. I just had an email from them saying to do a shopping trip at Walmart for $100 in product, pay myself $100 and do a moneygram for around $1580. They'll be sending a cashiers check or money order sometime this week for me to cash and do this. Why would they trust me with than amount of money to not just cash and run? I'm thinking it's a scam...

Almost without exception, christy, anyone who sends you a moneygram in advance of performing a shop is SCAM-ming you. And $1580 is way beyond your usual mystery shop in terms of money. RUN from this one!

I just recieved a package from them. I emailed them because i was told by a couple ppl they were legit. Now I have a package at home waiting for me and now I know its a total scam from all the research I have been doing. I did not expect a package to show up at my door from them out of no where. WHat do I do?

If you have a shredder and a trash can I would use those (all kidding aside, tear up/shred any check or other items with your information on them and throw it all away). Don't answer their emails/phone calls, they'll move on to the next potential victim.

What are they trying to do? I mean whats there scam? I did just shred it.

Let me see, they send you a big check or money order, instruct you to deposit same in your bank and withdraw all but a couple hundred bucks for your "commission" and wire the rest to them. Check bounces, you're out all the money and face possible criminal charges for fraud.
