Have you started registering with the companies that offer work to their Independent Contractors? There is a link at the bottom of each page of the forum to our "Official List of Mystery Shopping Companies". You have to be proactive to register and check the companies' job boards. Companies such as Market Force, IPSOS, Stericycle and Maritz have jobs in every community in the country.
Welcome to the forum, Dfireman21. How many companies have you signed up with, and when did you sign up with them? Most of us have found that you need to sign up with at least 50 companies to see a reasonable volume of shops in your area. And, if you signed up only this month, the shops for the month may already be assigned to other shoppers, because most of the companies want to get the bulk of their assignments done before the holidays. Spend some time signing up with more companies and plan to check their job boards after January 1.
I am new to mystery shopping, so I'm not sure how to get jobs. I am a caregiver so I am looking for part time work in the morning.

Hi, Cowgirl, welcome to the forum. Once you register with companies, providing your personal information and SS#, you will sign their independent contractor agreements (ICA), which usually contain a confidentiality clause, you will be able to search their job boards to try to find assignments in your area. Here's a great list of companies to sign up with:

How do you know which ones are legit?

The list on this forum are companies that shoppers on this forum have worked with. As companies merge with other companies or go out of business or just change their names, shoppers notify the owner of this forum for the list to be updated. I can confidently tell you that every company on the list is legitimate. This does not mean that all of them are wonderful to work with, so there are links to conversations on the forum about the companies. I would encourage you to read through the threads to see opinions of other shoppers.
I found the Ideal Lady had a lot of information and companies to sign up for she published a book, but a lot of information for free.
