BestMark - Sign off "immediately?"

Hi All! I'm back with another newb question. smiling smiley

I have my first shop for BestMark tomorrow, and in the instructions it states that I must sign a confirmation "immediately" after completing the shop. Does anyone have any experience with how literal/strict this deadline is? I mean, do I need to log in from my smart phone in the parking lot & try to do the confirmation, can it wait until I drive home, or can I do another shop on the way home and then confirm?

This instruction seems very confusing & contradictory to me, since right in the next sentence, it says that if I haven't confirmed by a certain time the next day, that I'll be docked. This seems to me to mean that I should be able to take my time getting home, but I want to take nothing for granted since this is my first assignment for them, and I want to do it right!

It means B4 the shop is due...and make sure you keep screen shots of your work for each page...PM to know more. You might need them.

I have never bothered to click that confirmation link until I go to upload my report. And they have never commented back to me on this...

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.
Thank you, dee & mr. c for your responses! I thought this might be the case (that I'm safe to wait until I get home & file the report), but like I said, I'm hesitant to assume anything this early in the game. Also, dee, thanks for the tip on keeping screen shots. I actually did this for my very first report (for another company), then when I got to the end, it gave me the chance to download my responses, so I did that as well, then deleted the screen shots. So I am guessing that perhaps BestMark's system does not allow for this type of download after input? If so, I'll definitely take screen shots, as I absolutely hate duplicating effort when, say, a web form crashes or something similar happens.
They do not let you keep the report, and if you ask me, with them, it is in your best interest to have your report.

Hi Coupon,
I have completed TONS of shops for BestMark. I do try to confirm as soon as I can, even from my phone. In my mind, this alerts the scheduler that the shop is completed and they can breathe a "sigh of relief", if you will. Especially if you are a new shopper for them, they worry about the completion I think. As far as the reports....I hit save, save, save. I have never lost a report from BestMark. I definitely have from other companies. Hope this helps. Have fun shopping!
Not save at issue. Save doesn't let YOU keep it. You still need the screenshots.

A screen shot is a capture of a screen. This is important for preserving a copy of your report or instructions in case a particular website is unfriendly about doing so. The most typical 'screen shot' is to press the 'fn' or function key at the same time you hit the 'prt sc' or print screen that is usually found on the home key. This will copy the screen onto the clipboard. Then you can open up for example a Word document and paste the screen image into it. This will then allow you to save the image from the screen.

I generally find it easier to hit my right mouse button and choose 'select all', then right mouse button and hit 'copy', then move on to a Word document and hit 'paste'.

Still a third way is to 'print to pdf'. Generally if you are using Open Office there is an option there to create a pdf. This can carry forward and become a "printer" that you can select when you go to 'print'. The pdf format file can then be saved.

I don't see signing off in this thread so I am not sure in which context you are asking. Generally you have to sign into a website in order to do your report, often referred to as logging in. Signing out of the website or logging off when you leave (as opposed to just closing the window) is usually a good notion.
Regarding "Confirm", I haven't bothered when I enter the report right away or same day. However, I prefer submitting longer reports for dinner shops the next morning, whenever possible. In that case, I confirm after dinner. It let's the scheduler know the shop was done and the report will be forthcoming.

Also, Bestmark works best with Internet Explorer, and in fact they recommend its use. Saving reports on their site is a bit of pain but necessary.
I thought I'd better explain, after a recent PM asking me about timings. Bestmark's guidelines normally state that reports are due within 12 hours of the shop. When I know I won't be getting home from a dinner shop until late - 10 or after, I prefer to submit the report the next morning. I will have gotten permission, in advance, from the scheduler. It's an important step because Bestmark will make deductions if they believe they're justified.
has Bestmark changed policies? They always had a due date of 10:00 the next morning after the shop if I remember right.
It depends on the shop type and its guidelines. The dinner shops I was referencing, are within 12 hours.
