Oil Change Shops

I am a full time shopper for a major retailer, and our team works in house for them. I drive 90,000 miles a year in my company car. I have done a local oil change shop and a travel one. Now my car has over 107,000 miles (get new ones at 125,000 miles) and the stipulation says less than 100,000. It still is a 2014 model. Will the shopper company cut slack for this, or should I just wait to get my new car before trying again?

I have no clue about your question but I find the rest of your post incredibly interesting. I mean obviously I knew some companies had internal shoppers but I'd love to hear more about it.

There are multiple MSCs with oil change shops, some at dealers, some at chains. Without knowing the mystery shopping company it would be impossible to answer. Even knowing all we could do is hazard a guess about whether they might be willing to waive the requirement. Often that will depend on how hard the shop is to fill in a given month.

my apologies, I am still trying to figure out some rules here. Like, can I mention companies names and the like. i have never done shops, except for the company I work for, and the couple independent ones. The oil change shops I did, were with Bestmark. They are the ones with the 100,000 mile stipulation.

The only rule there is about mentioning companies names is that you can't mention the company and the client. So the car brand mentioned in your post will need to be edited.

D Wayne,

If I understand your question, you are considering using a car with 107,000 miles for an oil change shop that has a requirement for a car with 100,000 miles or less.

The best and final answer lies with the scheduler. Email them with your question. The best we can do here is to related any experiences we may have with exceptions to that particular requirement for the MSP in question.

A Closer look does oil change shops and they just need you to have a newer model car.
