Direct Deposit Forms Safe?

Hello!

I'm new to the Mystery Shopper world and have since begun working with my first company. They seem like a quality organization (they show up on all "lists" as a verified and legitimate company to work for) and even provided a great training to us to shop with their large, international client. They sent along a direct deposit authorization form, which I'm fine with, but it asks for my SSN and my bank account information on a plain piece of paper, not even on letterhead. Can anyone help verify this for me? This makes me nervous to send this information electronically to folks I've never met! Any help or guidance would be sincerely appreciated. Thank you!

Yes it's safe.

I have, over the years, registered with other 330 MSCs. Most have my banking info, my Paypal info, my SSN or my FEIN, all have my DOB and address and previous/current work history, some have my DL# and photos, and yet.,, I have never heen a victim of identity theft, even with giving all of that sensitive info out to them.

It's hard to say if it's safe without knowing the mystery shopping company and we don't know what "lists" you are referring to.

Welcome to the forum!

It's always good to be careful about submitting such personal information. However, without more information we can't help much. What I can say is that it is standard practice for companies to ask for and receive this information.

If you post the name of the company we can perhaps steer to you the right website, confirm or refute that the company uses the procedure you describe, or add other helpful comments.
