Jobslinger

I registred with Jobslinger about a week ago. I'm noticing that some of the postings in my area are quite old (some more than 50 days!). Does that mean those jobs are less desirable/or a PITB? Should I avoid them?

It means that the job is probably gone, and just not updated on JobSlinger.

JobSlinger isn't an MSC, they are just a hosting platform for various MSCs to post some jobs.

Be careful using the JobSlinger link to apply for jobs. You could be missing out on bonuses. Even if you use it to direct you to the MSCs particular listing, always refresh the MSCs job board, find it, then apply.

I only say this because sometimes, the JobSlinger posting is the regular fee, but there'll be another on the Job Board for the same location with a bonus. For example, there is a Papa John's listing on JobSlinger for my zipcode, for $5, and when I click the link, yeah, still $5. But on that MSC's Job Board, there's another listing for the exact same location, that pays $25.

So, my point is, always check out the Job Board fully before applying.

And use it primarily as a resource as who has what kinds of shops in your area to make sure you are registered with those companies. That will get you emails of postings and bonuses available. But indeed, always go to the job board of the MSC to see what the current deal is.

Doesn't JobSlinger just repost jobs on other MSC sites? I didn't figure they ever took any down. There is a job in my area that is hard to fill. I will pick it up if my rotation is over or if the MSC calls me, but it will stay up all month. JobSlinger will post it over and over again every time the MSC sends out an update every few days. As Flash points out, they are a good place to find MSCs working in your area. I don't think I have ever applied directly through them. I find something interesting on the list and then go to the MSC website to confirm and sign up.

Yes, they are a re-poster and because they are very slow to take jobs down they work well to see who shops your area. Normally when a shopper accepts a job it will disappear from a SASSIE board so you won't know it ever existed. Jobslinger works almost as an archive of what jobs Sassie companies have had.

I've gotten a few jobs from jobslinger but I mainly use it for searching out jobs in my area.

Be aware that if you pay for jobslinger plus and want to cancel the following year, don't forget. I forgot and my credit card was charged another $50

Actually, any shops posted to JobSlinger from SASSIE are utomatically ataken down as soon as they are filled. A mystery shopping company that uses SASSIE may also choose to post shops on Volition or the MSPA job board. Those shops also show up on JobSlinger, but because those job boards do not have any mechanism for assigning shops (just posting them), they can't take them down when they're filled -- just when the shop expires.

That works.
