Can someone please give me a list of the best companies that will pay me the most and not require a lot of work? And please tell me who shops Subway, I'm going to try Jared's diet.
LOL I'M JUST KIDDING! Just seems like a requisite first question for noobs.
My real question is, how do you feel about email replies just to say "Thank you?" It seems that everything I read online about professional email etiquette says if all you are saying is thanks, then you should not send the email. To me this feels rude, depending on the situation.
For example, a scheduler had contacted me to ask about a shop I had done. We had a four or five email exchange, and the last email was hers. She had been super nice, so I sent her a quick "Thank you"; both to thank her and to let her know I had received the final email she sent. It would have felt rude to me to not say anything. However, I had to email another scheduler for a different company with a quick question about a shop before I did it. Her answer was a one word, "Yes." I didn't send a thank you for that, because it sounded like she was busy and the yes had fully answered my question. And obviously I wouldn't reply to an automated or mass email.
I know everyone gets way too many emails nowadays, especially schedulers. But I have tried not sending a thanks, and I felt so rude! I imagined the person on the other end of the conversation sitting in front of their computer for hours, waiting for my reply. Then slowly a small tear rolls down.. Lol at least I make myself laugh. But when I get that "Thanks, have a good weekend," from someone it makes me smile.
What do you think? To thank or not to thank?
