Re-sizing receipts

I am quickly learning that food/restaurant shops are not my thing. I can't seem to get these shops right. I have so much trouble trying to re size receipts. Paint somehow does not work well for me. Any advice on how to get this right? There seems to be an art/science behind it.
I love, love, love the audits.
Almost ready to give in.

Welcome MzDiana! I use Microsoft Office Picture Manager to edit all of my photos. If you are using a recent version of Windows, this should be available to you. I scan as a jpg, and then right click on the file, select "Open with" and then pick Microsoft Office Picture Manager. When you use the Edit Picture options, you can easily crop, rotate, and resize photos really easily.

Hope you can get something to work for you! You found the right people to ask. I'm sure others have their own techniques, so if this doesn't work for you, there should be plenty of other options.

Could I have a receipt please?
I also use Microsoft Picture Manager and it's fantastic. LisaSTL got me onto it from this forum and it's been a real godsend. I'm not sure if it works on newer versions of Office after 2010 though.
I use paint to cut the white blank section off of my scanned receipt. Then I can usually use paint or GIMP to resize the receipt properly.

I use a scanner called NEAT, the portable size. It automatically files it in PDF. Works great! You can purchase it on line for about $100, worth every dime.
My upgrade to Office 365 meant no more Picture Manager. The easiest thing by far is to photograph your receipts. Set your camera to the size you need rather than resizing.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
If you have a smartphone, Tiny Scan app works great too. Easy to use and uploads via Dropbox or you can email it to yourself.
