When to perform shops?

In general, when scheduling shops, if a date is listed, say June 6th, as the "due date" but you apply and accept the shop on June 1st (the first day the shop can be performed) , can you usually perform the shop any of those dates. I've had shops that say they have to be done on a certain day and/or time but most do not. Since many of these ask you to state a date you can perform the shop (Sassie scheduling) is that dates flexible during that window? I've been doing shops on the exact date I picked but then I noticed a couple companies listed that the shops just need to be done BY that due date, not ON the due date.

If it says a specific day then go with that unless you otherwise have permission to pick a different day. It's called CYA when the MS company tries to come up with a reason not to pay you. If they give you a window of time like some companies do then choose a date that works for you.

It depends on each company.

Many Sassie companies operate in the manner you described and ask you to scheduler it for a particular date. For many, you are then expected to do it on that date. Some give you a range of dates and let you choose as long as the report is in by the deadline. If it is ambiguous you can always email the scheduler.

Can you do it outside those listed dates? Maybe. As you gain experience you will learn that schedulers often post shops with earlier than necessary deadlines. For example, today (June 1) you will see shops posted with a date range perhaps from June 1-8th. What if you want one (or more) of those shops but on June 15th and you know the true deadline to submit the reports to that specific client is the end of the month? You can wait until they post it for a date range that includes June 15 and hope no one else takes it or you can ask for it today to perform on the 15th. If you have a track record of success with that company, they will consider your request and might give you that shop today.

When in doubt, do it on the date you promised them. You can learn which shops and companies are more flexible.

It's very true that experienced shoppers with great track records with the MSC can often ask for, and get, due dates beyond the stated window. Schedulers like to have shops completed as early in the month as possible, in order to have time to reassign any that are flaked. When they know that they have a highly reliable shopper, many will schedule for later in the month.
