May Shops

Is there a typical time that shops are posted for the next month?
Is there a way to know when new shops have been posted other than by going in to every MSC every day to check?

Thanks smiling smiley

Many shops are posted the last week of the month for the following month. But a lot of MSCs post shops throughout the month. Many send e-mail notifications when shops are posted, but, because the shops are on the job board BEFORE the e-mails go out, many of the best assignments are gone by the time e-mails are received. As you see your favorite jobs posted with your favorite companies, make note of the dates so you will be ready to check their job board next month. There are a couple I check daily, some I check weekly, and others seldom.

How many companies are you registered with? If I did that on a daily basis, it would totally cut into my work day.

A workable trick is to create bookmarks of folders and do an 'open all in tabs' from the bookmark. I let the browser remember my user name and password so they can background load while I am doing other things and when I am ready to check them, they are ready to open, review and close if there is nothing interesting. Create different folders for different time frames to check. I have my basic 'useful MSPs' folder that I work most with that are checked daily. I have additional folders where there are 15-20 MSPs that I can rotate through to check and see if they have anything in my area so that I can check one folder's worth per day. Then there is one folder of 'the dogs' that rarely gets checked. These are either companies I don't care to work with further or who have never had anything in my area. I keep them around to update my profile if/when there is a change but perhaps check them only once or twice a year.
Yup, Flash uses a viable method to manage 100+ job boards. I do pretty much the same. Firefox is the browser with the "open all in tabs" function.

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
I do this as part time because that's the way it is for me right now. No choice actually. I'm registered with about 50 and spend my mornings hunting the shops down. smiling smiley
if i do not get enough jobs for the day by ones offered to me directly then i go to the sits of the ones that i do most and work my way down. somedays i never look at websites as i fill up my diary with msc' offering them to me directly. one onl sends out by email and there is someone close to me who i very quick but i suspect he (i have worked this part out) only takes the more expensive jobs he always leaves the cheaper ones i suspect he ha the webite open and rerfresed all teh time
I usually pick up email shops vs hunting for them, but I do this part time and it's not a huge necessity to bust my butt to get jobs. Also, when I started, I did check my boards every day for about 2-3 months to find out what companies offer shops I like in my area. Now that I have them down, I check them and everything else gets back burnered.
Hi Everyone!
I'm new to this board and to Mystery Shopping in General. I've always wanted to do it and I found a company that needed one about 50 miles away from me, I'm just trying to get my foot in the door and could use all the help you are willing to afford me and maybe I can pay it forward to the next newbie. I live in Fayette, Alabama, which I'm sure means nothing to you but you may have heard of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The University of Alabama's football team has been the champs of college football for the past 2 years, lead by a guy named Nick Saban. ROLL-TIDE. I'm hoping that helped a little bit, Birmingham Al is about 1.5 hours from me.

I would like to by-pass the bad company's and learn from everyone mistakes. I personally would like to travel Mystery Shop, go different places, mystery shop at airports, hotels and resorts and that type of stuff. I work part time now but if I could travel I would do it full time. There must be somebody who knows something about this? Anybody?

Well, I through out there what I needed, I hope to meet and develop friendships on here because I can already tell it's it's own little community. Everyone on here knows how it is and how it goes and I'm sure everyone benefits from each other's experiences. I hope I can pass on a few of my own and help someone else out. If you think I would benefit from knowing I sure would appreciate the advise! Blessings to all. Sharon

The May shops here are still too low for me to do them. I have to wait a bit I guess. In the meantime, I'm doing other work that needs to be done around this joint.

But...I still check all the boards. smiling smiley
