Getting started... I think!!!

Well, well... things are picking up!!! I've done one shop, then things got scarily quiet for two weeks. The only thing I found during that time was fast food shops for 5 dollars each. It would take about 2.5 hours each (prep time, shop, and report)! Now I've got at least 3 more physical shops scheduled, and maybe a dozen phone shops done. I am beginning to think that maybe phone shops are a way to generate sales for their clients (don't do this shop if you are not a homeowner; don't do that shop unless you want to change your cable service, give your correct information), but it's a little income as long as I remember the word "NO". Maybe I won't starve after all!!! grinning smiley

How many MSCs are you signed up with so far? That might be the issue.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Wales is right. You need a lot of MSCs, and it sounds like you have only one or two. Keep signing up and you will get more and more offers. At the bottom of the page you will find a link to a list of mystery shopping companies.

I've signed up with five so far; but you guys are right. That IS the problem. I've been job hunting about 14-17 hours a day so sign up with MS companies is very slow. I might have to let the job search go since it seems that no one wants someone who has taken care of their mom for 8 years. It's a race against time now but God has always taken care of me! grinning smiley
Don't let the job hunt fall by the wayside. Just allot a certain amount of time each day for your various activities. Believe it or not, you are probably being less efficient spending so many hours a day on one task. Changing it up will alleviate some of the boredom and frustration.

Right again, Lisa! I've spent so much time job hunting in the past 11 weeks until I see it in my sleep when I do sleep. ...and it is DEFINITELY boring and frustrating. I think I need to cut it down to about 4 hours a day and chase non-traditional ways to make income. MS'ing will just be one of them. If I hadn't been so focused on job hunting, I'd be signed up to at least 75 shops by now. Not too late!
Should I try to come off as wise or just admit it is a case of "been there, done that." grinning smiley

You're here to live. What makes you happy? Spend hours researching how to profit off a hobby or something you love doing. I haven't found an industry yet where there isn't money to be made.
I love singing enough to sing for free (and I do), and I have made money from singing; problem is, though I am good, there are so many more singers who are much better and have more contacts.

I do also enjoy songwriting, and I am exploring that as we speak. I believe that as I gather more resources, I can do well songwriting. But... patience.
