Does shadowshopper have some companies that make the list worthwhile getting? I am looking for more and new companies.

Have you used Jobslinger.com to look for companies currently shopping your area? It is free and although most of the jobs posted are long gone, it does give you a notion of who has clients in your area to sign up with.

There is a free trial version of shadowshopper for 30 days or some such. Just make sure you cancel well before the end of your trial period so they don't charge your credit card.

There is a list of companies with this forum in the top of the Mystery Shopping Company Discussion section.

I guess I signed up with the wrong companies. I took a job where I would contact these commpanies, from home, and ask for certain information. Well after I did this, which I still haven't been paid, and after 2 weeks after the jobs were complete I'm still getting phone calls from these commpanies, it's a pain.
I would like to do Mystery Shopping and can't seem to find the proper places to go to get started. You click on one place and that one sends you to another and on, and on, and on. It's a big run around.

Yes, you signed up for one of the less savory outfits and I suspect you had to sign up for a lot of 'free' and 'trial' offers. Just make sure anything you gave your credit card information to you have cancelled out. You can, unfortunately, expect to receive continued solicitation offers because now, even if you have a phone on the 'no call' list, you have 'established a relationship' with them. This stuff is scammy. I am only surprised you have not been paid because the jerks putting this kind of stuff out there are getting paid $10-$20 per 'hit' of someone who signs up for the 'service'.

There is indeed a legitimate business of mystery shopping out there. Read through the forum to see what companies folks are pleased with and check Jobslinger.com for some of the companies currently shopping in your area. You will need to sign up for each company you want to do shops for--there is no getting around that--but the Jobslinger.com posts will let you know what companies currently have clients in your area. The jobs you see posted will likely be gone but standardly a client has shops done weekly, monthly or quarterly, so there will likely be more shops come available from the same company. Not all companies use Jobslinger by far, but it is a good place to start and it is free. Don't be scammed into paying anybody to shop as most frequently these are just referral services and offer no actual work themselves.

I see a lot of bad press about paying for Jobslinger Plus. I find that doing a single search that tells me of available jobs with 50 companies is well worth what I pay. I find so many shops quickly and can book several locations of a particular shop. I have no complaints about paying for the consolidated search engine. Every business has some expenses and this one pays for itself if you are doing a lot of shops.

Keep in mind that what it gives you access to is primarily SASSIE based jobs. And those jobs are also available for free with the regular Jobslinger site. Yes, if you want it sent to your cell phone or whatever. I just find that the purpose of being a shopper is making money, not spending it, and my better paying jobs do not come from SASSIE companies. Yes, I could gather lots and lots of work off SASSIE websites or off Jobslinger.com but there are limits to the number of hours in a day . . .

I am fully aware that JobSlinger only lists Sassie jobs. I am also fully aware that I am receiving the fastest, most up-to-date data on those jobs and the money I pay out is a reasonable, valid work expense. The other sites that I have tried often have out of date listiings. I save enough time with JobslingerPlus to pay for the service. When working to make money the bottom line depends on how effectively you use your time.

I want this forum to present both sides. Jobslinger Plus is not for everyone. If you are doing a lot of Sassie jobs it is a lifesaver. In my part of the country it is a major help. I travel extensively, I usually find enough shops while in route to pay the days travel expenses.
