How Many Times Have You Reapplied For A Denied Shop?

I've just been turned down for the fourth time in 2 months for a particular shop. Granted, it was a restaurant shop, but not fine dining, and the reimbursement was only $35. Still, we kind of like the place, so I would have liked to have gotten it.

Any point in continuing to apply, or am I banging my head against the wall?

Yes, keep applying. Sometimes the jobs are awarded to the first person who applies as long as they are not proven incompetent. Sometimes they try to rotate the jobs through shoppers (a variety of eyes are better for the client). Sometimes they only award jobs to their 'pets' until there is a falling out. It makes sense to keep applying but not to go crazy or be insulted by not being awarded the shop.
Keep applying and in a very nice way, comment when you apply that you would really appreciate being assigned one of these if possible. And give a thanks. You might get one, just be patient.
Maybe your spouse could apply. They might be looking for another ?
If you spouse does it and it is a shop for 2 you will get to enjoy it also.
When I really want a shop I apply on the website and then send the scheduler a note telling them why I really want to do the shop, letting them know my quaifications, give them some of my mystery shopping ratings, etc. Also, be sure to follow the directions VERY carefully. I applied for a shop 6 times and got turned down and finally I wrote and asked why. I was told that I did not put the right title in the e-mail and it never showed up when she set the filter to show only those titles. It was a very simple error, but yet one that cost me a job. The next month I applied for the same job and got it right away. Good luck.
If this is GameFilm, keep applying. I regularly shop for them and so does my son. They have a $35 reimbursement-only casual dining steakhouse. It took me 3 times (3 months) to get one when I applied each month, and I apply each month and only get one every 2nd or 3rd month. My son waited 5 months before getting one and gets them about every 3rd month.

Also Kern shops, even after "proving myself" I get shops I apply for sometimes but not other times.

Keep applying but I would say if you don't hear anything in 48 hours don't hold open the date and keep waiting....
