When are new shops posted?

I know many MSCs post directly on the main page when new shops will be posted. Otherwise, is it normally just the beginning of the month? I check sites compulsively throughout the day and wish there was an easier way to know when they are all posted! It's addicting!

Is there a way to "compile" searches or is it dependent on the scheduling services, Prophet/SASSIE software, etc....? Or is it just the best bet to sign up for emails for ALL these companies and let your inbox be innundated?

Answer: It varies.

Some MSPs post all their shops at or the beginning of the month or a certain date. Some post different clients on predictable times of the months. Others will post some at one point in the month and others later in the month. Some others, rumor has it, offer shops directly to selected shoppers first before posting on any job board.

What to do? Here is what I do. I hope it helps.

1) Sign up for all emails from the MSCs I am signed up with and filter out the unwanted ones. I have about 50 or so filters that send certain emails to a folder titled MS-Filtered. For example, I do not wear glasses so I have a filter that moves emails from a particular MSC with "optical" in it to the MS-Filtered folder. The $2 phone shops from another MSC gets the same treatment. The advantage is I don't have to look at emails in MS-Filtered unless I choose. If I change my mind, I can remove the filter and those emails go to my inbox.

2) Make a date list organized by shop. I have a list of dates of the month on which I have learned certain shops are made available. For example, on the 25th of the month is when a MSC posts all their shops for the next month including a museum shop that I like to do on occasion. On those listed dates, I will check specific job boards for those shops as I am interested.

3) Reach out to the schedulers. For many MSCs, the schedulers are in control of job postings. When I have difficulty figuring out when certain shops are posted, I will inquire expressing an interest in doing more shops if I knew better when to look for the shops. I have found schedulers are glad to supply that information.

4) "Compiling" searches. I think I know what you mean. If you are familiar with Jobslinger - you will know it groups available Sassie shops in one site, with one search. There are two or three more such sites. If you aren't familiar with these I recommend Jobslinger - the free version.

Good luck

It does pay off to check websites frequently because you just might find a recently opened shop because another shopper flaked.
I'd love to know, but I figured I should probably ask the schedulers if I really want to know (which I do for one MSC and that MSC's post dates change each month).
