Staying Organized

I am planning on doing a lot of shops a month. How do you plan your week/month. How do you stay organized with everything. Thanks

I use an Excel spreadsheet where I sort the jobs by day. I color code the cells for applied, assigned, completed, and paid. It also let's me enter my mileage for the month, computes the IRS allowance. I then import into a summary the monthly totals for payments received, bonuses, reimbursed and unreimbursed expenses as I'm paid, so I know what I've received each month.

Do you write off mileage for tax purposes?
Mike, remember this is a public forum and your e-mail address is now visible to everyone. We have some frequent spammers and scammers visit.

Mileage can be one of your largest deductions. I don't know any of us that don't take it off our taxes.

Do you just keep a log of your mileage to write off during tax season. Is there anything else I need to do? Do you just figure out mileage from your house to the job? Thanks for all your help smiling smiley
