Best way to follow up with payments?

Hello all,

I have been a shopper since 2001 but only recently joined this community. I started off for the first several years only shopping with maybe 15-20 different companies so it was easy to keep up with who owed what. I have since moved to a different location and am much more active in shopping. I am now involved with more than 100 companies and have a goal of $400/mo earned in shops.

As a result, I now have many shops to keep up with as well as many payments to follow up with. Since there are so many different companies who all have different waiting periods for payments to post, I was wondering how most on here keep up with this info. I typically post all my shops on my smartphone calendar but I hav not been able to find a way to follow up on the appointments after so many days.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi Starnz. I make a folder for each job, and after the job is reported I file the folder in my pending drawer. When I'm paid for the job, I pull the folder out, mark it paid, and file it in my completed files. I have a spreadsheet to keep up with everything else, but I like the hands on method for keeping up with payments.

I've been with all my companies for a long time and I don't stress about payments. If a folder seems to be lingering overly long in the pending drawer, I'll make an inquiry. I shop part time and did 642 jobs last year. This works well for me.

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.

Hello, can u provide me with names/samples of the spreadsheet u r using to track your companies. I would rather hear more than use: Excel MS .... I am looking for more of the design/format, even a picture of how it might look on the software. Thanks!

I think many of us have created our own spreadsheets. As an alternative there is something called the MS Bible. A search on this site will probably bring up the information on how to get one. At one time Flash was also providing her own version free of charge. She has not been posting for a while, but maybe someone else on the forum has a copy and would be willing to share.

I make my own spreadsheet with dates, shop number/company, payment/reimbursement, mileage.... As I get paid, I go through and put in the amount paid and compare to what I have written down. Any empty spaces= a payment I need to check into. I think everyone has what works for them and you kind of have to play around until you figure out what works for you.
