Hello!

Hi all! I did a few mystery shops around 2003, and have just started up again. I'm signed up with a handful of companies just to get my feet wet.

I haven't read very far on the forum yet, so I'm sure a lot of the other things I'm wondering, such as useful software, will be addressed in other places. There's only one burning question on my mind right now. What do you put when you are applying to a mystery shopping company and they want to know the names of the other mystery shopping companies that you contract with? (Sorry to leave the preposition at the end of the sentence.)

Thanks!

I say something to the effect of my ICAs do not allow me to disclose that information, but references are available on request.

Welcome to the forum. There is a section titled New Mystery Shoppers and the threads at the beginning have a ton of useful information.

Probably, I just don'tsmiling smiley The funny thing, nobody ever asks for the references anyway. Most of the systems are set up so we are registered and have access to the job board immediately.

BTW, I just realized this thread is in the New Mystery shoppers forum. It's been a long dayconfused smiley

You are allowed to name the companies that you shop for, just not which company shops which client.

One reason that the application asks this question is to have a record showing that you know tht you are not restricted to shopping just one MSC. All part of MSC's attorneys' advice about how they should try to prove that we are not employees. Silly, but it is what it is.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
That explains why my answer still works.

Lol!

After a couple of them, I just started putting "confidential" in that field. It hasn't stopped me from being registered anyway. I just kind of felt uncomfortable naming names. It makes sense from a legal standpoint but it seems nosy. smiling smiley
I just only say's my experience and how i use to do it sometime saying where you come from is quite nice specially if you have a nice record from your last companies where you work for.
What account are you talking about? Do you mean that you were deactivated as a mystery shopper by a company for whom you were an independent contractor? If yes, which company deactivated you?
