Welcome to the forum. See the blue link at the bottom of the page, Official List of Mystery Shopping Companies, for a great list of legitimate mystery shopping companies. You will go to their websites, provide your personal information and your SS# and sign a confidentiality agreement. Some will want you to submit a writing sample and some may have some tests for you to take. After you are accepted as a mystery shopper, you will be able to search their job boards to look for jobs in your area to apply for.
I would suggest signing up for as many companies as you can. It is a long process, but we all have been through it. You may want to try a form software to speed things up a bit, you will find links that talk about it on here. Make sure you read the stickys they are very informative and helpful.
I was once in your shoes just a few short months ago and I am still new and learning. But my strongest and best advice is to read what people say on here they know their stuff and don't try to consume it all in one day. Make it as fun and as enjoyable as you can be the best fun day you that you got pay for doing what you like.

I was a stay at home wanting to make some extra money. I by chance read a couponing blog that mentioned mystery shopping and the MSPA. I did some google research and found the MSPA website. I started there with companies because I could plug in my zip and companies with jobs in my area came up. From there I read the job descriptions and went to the companies to apply for them and the jobs.

After a couple months I worked with 3 companies. I researched scams one day and found this forum. I was extremely overwhelmed when I first started reading. It was like a mystery shopping super highway. Info was coming at me 100 of facts a minute. I would recommend to read here. I would take the good and the bad and make your own informed decision. If someone is complaining, how many posts do they have? Are they all complaining about the same mishap or many mishaps or does that person have something else to share? We all have a mishap every now and again, but does the good out weigh the bad? That is up for you to figure out. Take it slow. Get your feet wet and go from there.

My first job was a car dealership for $14. I loved it. My second day of mystery shopping was my first route with 10 banks and a restaurant. WOW! I was overwhelmed, but loved it. Alot of companies wouldn't give a newbie like me a route with so many of their trusted clients until you proved yourself, but apparently they really needed people in this area and pounced on me. I guess I was worth the chance because I still do their banks and more.

Good luck, have fun, and be safe.

Hi, justabout, welcome to the forum. If you are looking for advice about the test, you would have to give a lot more information to us. This forum is an independent forum of mystery shoppers. We are not affiliated with any of the mystery shopping companies. We contract with many of them to do assignments.

If you have signed up with a company and they require a test, I advise you to take the test right away. If you are having difficulties with the instructions, I would use the contact information to either telephone or e-mail the company and ask for additional instructions or help.
