Edited because the post I was referencing has been deleted. Meanwhile, welcome Ruby. There is a lot of great information around here.

Hello Ruby, welcome to the forum. That’s great advice from Mr. Computer.

At the bottom of this page, you will find links to a list of Mystery Shopping Companies and the Mystery Maven. The Mystery Maven will have some solid advice for getting started shopping. You can use the company list for a source of companies to sign up with. After you sign up and are accepted, you can apply for jobs on their job boards or they will send you an email with job offers. Each company will have training and job guidelines for you to follow. You will have to do the job on time and file an accepted report, after which you will be paid. Most jobs will pay between $8 and $15, with bonuses available from time to time and mostly late in the month. No reputable company will ever send you a large amount of money in advance. If that occurs, it is a scam.

Some of the companies will ask for an MSPA certification code, which is not a requirement. You can get started without it. It is not necessary to pay to train for this code, or to pay any company to shop. It is not necessary to join any type of venture that charges you by the month or year for leads to jobs. Those are all options but not requirements.

My suggestion is that you sign up for only one job at first. Do that job and complete it. Then sign up for another one. As you become skilled and comfortable, you can do more and more jobs in a day, and soon you will be having some good days.

I suggest you sign up with Corporate Research, Maritz, Bare, Market Force, and Bestmark, who have work available nationally and should have something in your area. All these companies will have training and guidelines which will assist you in completing their jobs. A company which may not have anything in your area but which has excellent training modules and guidelines is Sentry Marketing, and I suggest you sign up with them and go through their training modules even if they have no work where you are. It will be time well spent.

Be aware that Corporate Research will post their jobs at modest fees which will increase throughout the month until the jobs are picked up by a shopper. You will have to be alert and learn the ins and outs of their habits to take advantage of these lucrative bonuses.

You can research any company here on the forum and read over current and past threads by doing a search. Look at the top of the page on the home page and you can click to do a search. Learn to use this forum, and read extensively. There is no better source of information. If you are not a good reader, you will not be a good shopper.

You will have many questions. Ask, and you will get answers.
