The wow shop! Have you ever...

Have you ever went on a shop and was like wow. I tell you I did and now I want a new smart t.v. and a new car. Never consider the T.V. cause I was so proud of my recent purchase but I did this shop and now I feel like a complete doodoo bird. lol But I do get some shops wher I am really learning about the product and I get so excited about I want it for myself. That is whyh I love to shop there is so much I learn and don't know and this a great medium to find out!

Fortunately, I have had quite a few "wow" shops. Examples:

I was wowed by an employee on an apartment shop. Her performance was flawless. I was so impressed that I spent at least an extra 45 minutes writing my report just to make sure it painted a complete picture of what happened during the shop. I am often in awe of people who are very good at what they do, regardless of what it is.

The food! The food!

The first time I had a REALLY nice glass of port. I'm an infrequent drinker and rarely drink port but, as George Takei may say, "Oh my!"

The materials and craftsmanship of some luxury goods. Not my thing usually but, again, I was just in awe of how well designed and made some items were. Even if I did not know the prices or brand names, I would have been impressed.
I was totally "wow'ed" when doing a farm supply store shop. The chain saw salesman was right on his game and as a result I now own my own Husquevarna chain saw with a 36 inch bar.

Cettie,
Why are we neither surprised nor wondering if you are pulling our legs?

I am not really an "appliance" person. I don't need or care about fancy stoves, dishwashers, washing machines, etc. BUT I have found a refrigerator I JUST NEED...it wouldn't even fit in my house or my condo! But everytime I have to do an appliance shop I work it so I can look at that refrigerator and dream about owning it! LOL

That said I agree we learn soooo much about different products on these shops. I hate hate hate cell phone shops and would only stay with my carrier but I did a bunch before I switched from my Blackberry to my Iphone to hear about all the different brands/styles. And sometimes I think my friends are wondering where I get my obscure information about products I would ordinarily have no interest in.

It was at a Tractor Supply store and I was supposed to shop the chain saw dept. I really did buy myself a chain saw. Other shops to this location (which regretfully isn't shopped anymore) also resulted in my buying a weed trimmer and a lawn mower. It's very similar to how people can't resist buying shoes only I can't resist hardware stores.

Personally, I think that grocery store shops are a TRAP! I absolutely can NOT stay within the amount reimbursed! And yes, I did a shop once, went in a few days later and bought the product.

Silver certified, I shop in Cities in NM and TX that no one has ever heard of.
I have been Subway'd and McDonald'd to death. I am totally cured of my Mickey D addiction now. Anybody know where some better food jobs would come from?

Also, has anyone given out those $20 vouchers for Subway Employees? I've been to 5 Subways this week and not ONE person has asked the right questions. Don't these people pay attention in training class? I'm tempted to tell them after the shop that they DIDN'T get twenty bucks because they couldn't be bothered to upsell anything. Frustrating!!

I am on a road trip, staying at a Hampton Inn on my own dime, because I have shopped enough of the brand to know that any Hampton that gets a decent TripAdvisor rating will be exceptional! This one is so good that i wish I was shopping it so that I could list a number of staff names for exceptional service. And the beds are great!

Cettie, your scaring me...smiling smiley I have done many shops where I learn something, and want the item, like the BMW, smart phone, camera...or a great restaurant, I can't wait to go back too, doing a great burger place I love and can't wait.
I could go there during my rotation, but, refuse to spend my dime, yes, msing has made me thrifty. My favorite WOW shop has to be an easy bar audit in my town, great place, get an hour to relax and enjoy.....with dealerships a woe instead of a wow.

Live consciously....
I have been curious about a new camera and after my shop the other day I found the mother ship of all cameras! I could not wait for him to offer it to me so I could touch it and play with it. Unfortunately my husband doesn't think we 'need' that camera right now....I disagree! lol
Grocery store shops fit my idea of "if you have to do it anyway, there's probably an MSC that will pay you for it". I do have to take care to split up my list when I have 5 of them in 3 days though.

Dory - in Canada we did a version of this - $10 reward plus a certificate. However if they are unsuccessful, they receive a "maybe next time!!" certificate. Luckily all of my stores did the upsell and got the reward - I wasn't looking forward to giving out a "so sad, too bad" letter to the staff.

Always take the high road.
I always love getting paid to shop for a cell phone when it's time to switch and have never shopped them on my own time. It helped with the decision to get an iPhone since I'm just not techy enough for an Android.

Only twice have I been floored by the products. Not being a car aficionado, paying $40,000 and up seemed more than a bit silly. That is until I drove a $95,000 car that had me feeling like I was sitting in the captain's chair of the Starship Enterprisesmiling smiley That thing fit like a glove, lol!

Yesterday it was high end retail. I had not been in one of these particular stores in years. I've always dreamed of owning their luggage and was disappointed the shop was actually for a purse instead. I love a good purse mind you, but this one was just over $2,000 and it was sublime.

Wow I am impress and I keep being impress now I want a new car but oh I know I am going to see something else that wows me. lol
I was wowed into a nice, but Internet - ready Sony Bravia TV after having so many salespeople show me various sizes of it. It was many months coming and only happened after an accident settlement. Mystery shops planted the seed.
