First Shop

So completed my first shop today. It was pretty easy except I never thought that checking and remembering times would be so difficult! I did it but dang it was stressful. What are some methods you use to remember your times. I appreciate any tips!! Not sure if my survey went through successfully but I guess I will find that out soon enough. Lesson learned though...there wasn't a reimbursement, just the pay, which barely covered the lunch. Yes, the lunch that my dog actually ate when I turned my back on it!! I did manage a bite before he took off with it. UGH! Maybe next time!

If you made it through the first one you will be fine. At least you saved money on the dog's dinner, lol!

There will be a lot of answers to timing, almost as many as there are shoppers. It is not always the easiest, but I record my shops and do things like clearing my throat to remind myself how many people were in line. If it is a drive-thru shop you can use a stopwatch or the stopwatch app on a phone as long as it is out of sight.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
I put my times down on a memo pad on my smartphone. Works great and it looked like I'm just texting someone.
What kind of phone do you have? There are a lot of apps that will allow you to start more than one stop watch function. If you know what time you walked in, the rest is just adding the numbers.

I have an iphone. Which app do you use?
I have a voice recording app on my phone. I start the app, say the start time and put the phone in my shirt pocket. It records the interactions and has a visible elapsed timeline while recording and on playback. I add the elapsed times to the start time and get the actual time of any occurence during the shop. Its great for remembering names too. If they dont introduce themselves you can call them by name (ie from a nametag) at some point and it is recorded.

Just an old, fat, bald guy working hard at hardly working.
mazeltov!! And many more easy jobs for you and don't forget the doggie bag!! Somebody's gotta eat all that fast food!!
