Trendy Clothing... not my cup of tea! MY RANT

I took a "Trendy Clothing" store shop. I flaked and lost my mind... I couldn't concentrate and felt so out of place. I felt like I stepped onto the set of Beverly Hills 90210. I couldn't remember anything I was supposed to look for or notice etc. The smell they were pumping into the air was making my nose drip. The company asks the question if there is any reason you might have a problem with fragrance, but GOOD LORD! I wouldn't have thought it would be that much. I came home and didn't even attempt to fill out the shop report. I just cancelled it figuring they could give it to a shopper that can do it justice. I am trying not to feel bad, but the company said I couldn't print the shop info until the day before. If I would have realized I had to look to see if the employees look "attractive" enough (like models), I would have never taken this shop because the whole thing makes me want to puke.

I am sorry for the rant. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Lesson learned.

Basically, those jobs suck. I can barely walk by the stores because of the nauseating "fragrance" that drifts out of the store. The only time I took them it was for 3 in the same mall and at least I got a great pair of yoga pants.

Whoa... I think I applied for that shop last night but it wasn't assigned to me. I'm glad now. I think they didn't assign it to me because I am close to fourty.
That store gives me such a headache. I think that my first time actually walking around the store was for the shop. I don't know how people can see in there. It's so dark.
I am close to 40 too, actually. I do look a lot younger than my age, but I couldn't have fit in at that store when I was 20.
I'll take em...love all those shops, fragrance doesn't bother me and clothes, love to try on and shop for nice clothes, which is what got me into msing, hardly spend my own money anymore, and get my shopping addiction out of my system. I feel at home, guess, different strokes applies here.

Yea, ha ha.. I guess I'm not "trendy" winking smiley

Now if it would have been a hippie shop that smelled like incense.. that would have been okay, as long as it's not patchouli.. I can't stand patchouli.
since no one named the MSC, can someone tell me which store we are talking about so I can decide for myself. TIA
Since no one named the MSC or store... I will name my GUESS on what MSC it is... Beyond hello
Unless there is more than one asking if the employee was attractive, that is wrong.

And it's so LOUD in there! I actually saw in their employee handbook ( a new hire was sitting next to me at Starbucks) that the music level had been deemed safe by OSHA. Now that's good to know, but just the fact that an agency that monitors noise levels in construction, factories, etc., had to check music levels in retail......
I don't understand why you have to be under 40! I'm 43, and I can do "trendy." Sounds a bit ageist to me. I understand the age compliance shops saying you have to be a certain age. NO ONE is ever going to question the legality of selling me alcohol or tobacco. But I think they should allow people of all ages to wear "trendy" clothes.

Silver certified, I shop in Cities in NM and TX that no one has ever heard of.
There are more than one MSC doing the trendy or upscale...since I don't work
for MF, you are talking about a different shop. Beyond Hello has an age req.,
but I do others for two different MSC's. Trendy just means what's in style at the moment, but the clothes are wearable, and fun without looking crazy.
I'm in L.A., you know us!!

Hippie shops are long gone (sorry), but you might try Santa Cruz, many leftover hippies live there (including my nephew).
