Recommended companies for dinners

I tried a few searches on the boards first before I decided to post this question. I have recently started mystery shopping, and have taken a variety of jobs and signed up for five or six companies.

Trouble is that while there are many retail and lunch shops at the ones I have registered with, there are few dinner shops and I would like to continue to do those with my husband.

I live in CA, if that helps, but do you have any recommendations for companies that frequently have dinner shops listed? I apologize in advance if this question is outside of the normal questions we can ask about companies, but since so many applications for these companies are long, any guidance above just going through the extensive list of companies on the forum would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sisera,

You'll not want to hear this - but it is the same thing we tell everyone who requests this type of information:

There's a link at the bottom of every page titled, "Official List of Mystery Shopping Companies". You'll need to just start going down through the list and applying to all of these companies.

A couple of tips:

1. Write up specific narratives in a word or wordpad file. Things like, "Why I would make a good mystery shopper" and "My experience" and "A recent restaurant experience". Save those narratives and then simply paste them into new applications.

2. What is available in my part of the country may not be available in your part of the country - so it doesn't do any bit of good for me to tell you to apply here or there. This is normal, so that is why it is suggested to say, apply at 5 new MSC's daily - or just take a weekend and go down the list applying.

Most shoppers once they get on a roll are signed up with 150+ companies. Of those 150 companies, you'll find that the majority of shoppers usually only work with about 10-20 of them.

Good luck, welcome to the forums!

I started with Bestmark. It all depends on where you live also. I have found that a lot of dining has decreased since I started in 2004. Economy seems to be the reason.

I agree with prettygul, I'm not seeing near as many dinner shops as I was a couple of years ago. Several I shopped have closed completely and others have decided not to be shopped for whatever reason. I agree it's probably the economy.
