Mystery Shopper/Cash Crate

I hope I have not just fallen prey to a scam. I thought I covered my tracks by searching for this particular scam before I did anything and did not find anything.

Cash Crate is a survey company, not a mystery shopping company. There have been folks that complain that even as a survey company they are more out to pick your pocket than to pay you for surveys.

Just remember the golden rules of avoiding scams: 1) If it looks too good to be true it probably is and 2) Never hand out your personal information by email unless you are at least 99.9% sure with whom you are interacting.

For mystery shopping the corollaries are: A) Mystery shopping does not pay you in advance of performing your work and cool smiley Mystery shopping generally pays $5-$15 per shop and C) Mystery shopping does not 'send you work', you must request it or self-assign it.

What is the nature of the potential scam? Not familiar with anything called "Cash Crate".

Flash and I cross-posted. So, it's a survey company. How do they "pick your pockets"?

Cash Crate apparently requires that you sign up to have your payments credited to your phone but at the same time charges you about $10 per month to credit payments to your phone. I have never messed with it at all so don't know the details beyond what was posted here a few years back.
