Clarifications

How often do you get requests for clarifications on your reports?

I've done 8 shops so far and scheduler's have asked questions on three of them. All three of those companies have scheduled me for additional shops, so it must not have been too hideous. However, an error rate of over 1/3 indicates to me that I may not be cut out for this.

Any words of encouragement, or should I try babysitting instead?

Thanks

Stick with it. You eventually learn what kinds of things each co wants in their reports.
If they have not rejected your shops, you are on the right track. There is a learning curve in this as with anything else. You will find that even when you have made all the observations and thought you had everything covered in your report you are still likely to see the occasional clarification. Don't sweat it.

I find it useful to look at a few of the editor's comments or questions from previous shops when I am about to put in a report for a company I don't shop with often. Some of them want lots of direct quotes, some don't much care. Some want you to use the employee name throughout the narrative, some want you to only use a pronoun or "the employee" or "the cashier" etc. And just when you think you have it all sorted out for a particular company and client, you get a different editor who wants it done differently. Did I mention don't sweat it if your jobs are being accepted?
Thanks sneakers and Flash. It looks like both of the repeaters I did went through without a hitch, so I'm not sweating it.
Think of a clarification request as a positive--enough was done right that the report is mostly acceptable but needs tweaking.
