If they have not rejected your shops, you are on the right track. There is a learning curve in this as with anything else. You will find that even when you have made all the observations and thought you had everything covered in your report you are still likely to see the occasional clarification. Don't sweat it.
I find it useful to look at a few of the editor's comments or questions from previous shops when I am about to put in a report for a company I don't shop with often. Some of them want lots of direct quotes, some don't much care. Some want you to use the employee name throughout the narrative, some want you to only use a pronoun or "the employee" or "the cashier" etc. And just when you think you have it all sorted out for a particular company and client, you get a different editor who wants it done differently. Did I mention don't sweat it if your jobs are being accepted?
