I'd hit the "like" button 17 times for your post if I could. Since it wouldn't let me, then once will have to do it.

I've tried signing up twice and both times my rejection says that my username must be a real name.
I've have the same username there. You do have to use your real name for signing up, no anonymity allowed.

Both times I tried with LisaMS. That's my first name, middle and last initials. No go.
Your initials spell MS! Destinysmiling smiley

I had the same problem!
They tell me there is no such name as my real name. If my name is not a real name then who have I been all my life? I am not asking them. :-)
I do NOT like the V site so I am not going to add "God" to the end of the reference, even if Mr. V does have a God complex. I'm not about to add to the ego.

Ray and I have gone around over many, many things, including a MS article I wrote for journalism class where I SOLICITED his opinions for my article. Then he had a fit about my possibly using what he wrote. I did threaten to use a particularly juicy rant in my article because I knew he'd foam at the mouth and I'm an instigator like that. In the end, I used a nice, perfectly proper quote because I pride myself in my work and the other would've served no good.

Add that to the slaps on the hand for expressing my dissatisfaction with Lorri at KSS or the well-intentioned but sadly lacking MSPA certification program and my posts were moderated with many deleted even though they were all professional with no snarky digs like above. LOL C'est la vie! I knew what to expect going in. There used to be other great MS forums but they've since retired. Upon discovering this site, I doubt I'll have to ever go back to the V word. smiling smiley

Huh-uhsmiling smiley I did not sign with my real name, nor a variant. Mystery shopper, no?
Huh-uh smiling smiley I'm not signed up with my real name either. I did briefly adjust the name on the email account I referenced, which seems to be how they 'verify' your name. Then I cranked it back to show the usual name it shows. The name I used can be one of the many variants of my name or a couple of other names.
Should you or anyone be "in the need" in the future check out 10 Minute Mail (http://10minutemail.com/10MinuteMail/index.html). It's pretty simple, you click on the page, it gives you a temporary email address that will last for 10 minutes. It's handy for any forums, etc. you'd like to sign up for but not allow them to have your real email address. You sign up to your forum, check back on your 10 Minute page and see the confirmation email pop in your "mailbox". Click it, complete your forum registration and forget about the email address :-)
I'm permanently moderated for defending myself and others against another poster... The owner sent me a letter about "attacking" dear Spam.... (Inca must be her real last name.) Okie-dokie. When permanently moderated, each single post must be read and approved before it will appear on the board. Sometimes it takes days, so why bother?

LOL Spam Inca? That's one I hadn't heard before. If it makes you feel better, many find that particular poster spam-worthy, no matter what forum she's on. You have my sympathies and understanding.
Ah yes, dear Spam Inca. For me she's the two legged version of green bean casserole.

I haven't logged on in over two years, so don't know who or what this Spam Inca is...if she's on there, I'm sure she fits in...lol. I heard through the grapevine long ago, the master of the forum has a Napolean complex (being short), and the forum is his claim to fame...control, some just need control. Forums should be about free speech, that's what we have here.

I haven't been there in over five years and Spam Inca was in full form back then. No doubt you've come across this p-e-a-r-l.

Edited to see what word was blocked out. Apparently "p-e-a-r-l" is a dirty word. LOL

I have never experienced such abuse for expressing an opinion or having a different point of view. Nowhere I care to be, and am happy so many here agree with me. Doing this has split shoppers and really, they'd have alot more going to their conference if they hadn't been so darn nasty. What comes around goes around has been a lifetime expression, and something I've lived long enough to see....

Hey, Ray. I know your ego compels you to check this thread periodically. I just have to point out (again) - you're the biggest douchebag in the mystery shopping industry. I s'pose some might consider that an accomplishment. But really, you're just a sad little man.

I'll admit it, I had to look it up....

ca·pon [key-pon, -puhn]
noun
a cockerel castrated to improve the flesh for use as food.
I would like to add a few comments about "V-God." I have been mystery shopping for almost 8 years, and until today only knew about Volition. (A few other small forums as well, but basically just them). I have had a run in or two with Ray, and more than occasionally disagree with others on the site.

That being said, I have learned a lot from the site as well. I work full time as a firefighter, and have 5 other part time jobs. I still manage to make, on average, $6,000/year shopping, which I think isn't too bad. A lot of what I learned I learned there. I'm hoping to learn even more here, and find new friends.

I will also add I attended the IMSC conference in Vegas Oct/Nov this year. There were some "issues" with the conference, in specific a few things that were not so professional. Overall, though, they ran an informative conference, and I met some new people and learned some new things I did not know before.

So, while there may be problems over there, there are also plenty of things to be learned.
