Ipad or tablet computer, better than laptop??

Hey!! I've been looking at tablet computers, and they look like they might be a coonvenient way to enter my info while I'm out in the field instead of waiting to do reports when I get home. Anybody have any experience with this?? Pros? Cons?? THANKS!!

There is a tablet in the house. I have played with it. It cuts down typing speed so much I would not dare do more than a multiple choice shop with it.
A tablet is a nice little gadget. I love my iPad for many reasons & use it for many things. However, it does not replace a computer. If you're planning on doing simple work on it, great! You'll need a wifi hot spot or a data plan. Nothing major or it will be time consuming.
Somewhat similar to the netbook, but the price of the apps on the tablet is appealing. I type fast which is not possible on the tablet. For those that use the hunt and peck method, it may be peachy keensmiling smiley
So I see that I'm going to have to change my letter to Santa this year. I was contemplating a tablet but not if it slows down my typing. Good to know.
I'm with Mert. I just don't see how my typing speed wouldn't drop and my error rate go up. Maybe it's because I actually started typing on a real typewriter, but I need to feel the keyssmiling smiley

I have an Aesus netbook that is ideal for input on the road.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
I've used both fairly extensively. A tablet will never replace a laptop for moderate to hardcore business use. Surfing around/checking my bank account/ordering food...all great, and more efficient.

But if I have to type or manipulate data in any way, forget it. I need a real keyboard and a mouse.
